  1. Warm Neutrals

A neutral color palette with warm undertones became very popular in 2021 expressed by the use of paint, furnishings and decor. One of our favorite design trends expected to remain popular into the new year is using a primarily neutral color scheme throughout an entire space allowing for accents to be easily exchanged/modified.

2. A Unique Combination of Design Styles

Mixing different design styles has gained popularity and is here to stay. Creating your very own blend of furnishings and accents creates an elevated look. The current on trend “farmhouse” design style has evolved over the past couple of years and now incorporates a mixture of traditional and modern pieces.

3. Paneled Accent Walls

Creating a paneled accent wall became a very popular DIY during the stay-at-home period of the pandemic. There are endless ways to incorporate this trend into your home. Some of the most popular ways including a half wall design, a full floor-to-ceiling look or a unique geometric/herringbone pattern. This design trend is a great way to add character, texture and makes any space feel grand.

4. Multifunctional Spaces

If 2021 has taught us anything, it has definitely taught us the benefits of having multifunctional spaces. Many spare rooms, bedrooms and even kitchen tables served the dual purpose as office space this past year. Designing spaces to have multiple functions is practical and can help you avoid having to find makeshift solutions.

5. Black Furnishings & Accents

The color black is a strong shade, but when used in correctly, it is a gorgeous accent color. Black accent walls and furnishings have gained popularity in the last year and just like a little black dress, it will never go out of style.
